WALLS OF SILENCE

SECTION 6 TITLE 6.7 THE MEDICAL AND FINANCIAL TOLL OF ROACH-INFESTED FURNITURE, ELECTRONIC AND APPLIANCE LOSSES

Subpart 1. Couches and Dining Chairs Destroyed

As reported, the ongoing roach infestation has devastated my property, finances, health, and peace of mind. Today, I’m sharing a video showing the horrifying state of my $5,000 leather couch set and $600.00 vintage mid-century dining chairs, both of which have been overtaken by roach nests in the cotton padding. Despite exterminations beginning August 28, 2024, the infestation persists and I’m truly sad.

The Living Room has been unusable since late spring, as roaches and fleas emerge from under, behind, around, and out of the creases of the furniture whenever I sit down. The financial loss is immense, and I’m overwhelmed by the distress of figuring out how to replace these irreplaceable items when I move. I shouldn’t have to carry these consequences into my future when I’m not even an associate the people or their decisions right now; I’m a victim of them. I’m so upset.

Subpart 2. Managing the Emotional Distress of Stalking and Stagnation

Beyond the financial losses, the health toll is unrelenting. I am coughing and nauseous all the time, likely from the persistent chemical vapors of Raid and the infestation itself. The sadness I feel, isolated and secluded in one room since May, is overwhelming—I have fight succumbing to deep depression every day and that’s unlike me. Anxiety, naturally, all things considered but deep sadness and a feeling of literal isolation that I’m not sure how I’m going to get beyond and what I’ll have to lose to do so at this point—no. And because of other people; people I have nothing to do with and am literally fighting to stay away from me is infuriating.

I paid more and accepted less in order to remain separated from what felt like it could be trouble and most certainly is—why won’t these people-adults-stay away from me and pick up after their sick animals in the common spaces we all have to enter and exit at minimum? I mean I am sick to stomach all the time. I don’t do laundry. I don’t eat healthy food. I cannot have guest, Meanwhile, Rick and Sarah continue to torment me daily, with Anthony Anderson enabling their behavior. The property owner remains MIA—a ghost who hasn’t graced me with his voice since January, when Sarah physically assaulted me in the rental office.

I just want to leave here so badly, but I feel trapped because of how justice has been working in this state and because of it for such a long time. I should never have had to come to a place like this in the first place. I should be caring for my health and able to focus on my own goals and environment on the other side of the country. I cannot even write this without devastation getting in the way of my thoughts. My goodness.

Subpart 3. Destruction of Electronics, Cloth and Plastic Components

The property damage extends beyond furniture. My brand-new 55-inch 4K TV has stopped working, likely due to the chemical vapor from habitual Raid use. Additional damage includes:

  • Fire alarms that randomly trigger even when the oven hasn’t been turned on.
  • A plastic spice rack, securely mounted in the kitchen since December with no problems is suddenly melting.
  • I notice brown rings on the curtains like the vapors in the air is even thicker the higher you go. It’s not just smell that was making me sick it’s a vapor that encompasses you and smells like death. I serious as someone who used to work in respite and has experienced horrible things because of all that the people have been doing it is smell of decay and disease and now it seems the chemicals are truly caught in the vapor I knew I was experiencing; the curtains are proof—so those are trash.
  • A large photo in the dining room with a plastic insert that has bubbled out—a vapor.

Subpart 4. Questions About Lasting Medical Damages

The unbearable chemical smell from Raid only adds to the misery, compounded by the stench of Margaret’s cat waste that fills the common areas.

If this is what 8 months of these daily chemicals are doing to the environment, truly, what’s the damage happening inside of me?

Subpart 5. Office Overrun and Electronics Infiltrated; Loss of Livelihood

My workspace, once the heart of my business, is now unusable. The office walls and supplies are plastered with roaches, halting my ability to publish books and cutting off livelihood.

This crisis became evident in February 2024 and was immediately and repeatedly brought to property management’s attention. Yet, extermination did not begin until August 28, just before a city inspection that that property management was made aware of.

Subpart 6. Negligent and Intentional Emotional Distress

A second treatment occurred on September 11, during which exterminators determined additional treatments were necessary due to the infestation's severity. However, the following treatment appointment was missed, delaying progress even further.

It’s clear they will not rid the property of bugs before my lease ends. I pay full rent yet have been confined to one room for months. The injustice of living in conditions that compromise my health, financial security, and mental well-being is beyond words.

I continue to document these losses and advocate for accountabilityNo one should have to endure conditions like this, and I will keep fighting to expose the negligence that has led to this disaster. Thank you for your continued support.

Subpart 7. Appendix Supporting Evidence From The Experts

Update on Roach Infestation and Chemical Treatment Issues

I’ve been receiving mixed messages from the exterminators and their company. While they’re doing a commendable job under difficult circumstances, I suspect their optimism is more about keeping me calm than reflecting the reality of the situation. Unfortunately, the building remains filthy until the night before the exterminators arrive, which undermines their efforts.

I’ve also realized they might not fully disclose information due to their role being tied to payment. For example, I had to do my own research to confirm that it’s common for roaches to infest and damage electronics. This might explain why my refrigerator broke down—roaches had been nesting inside for months, crawling through air vents and freezing to death in the back.

To cope, I created a survival guide based on what I’ve learned. Not only does this support my financial claims, but it might also help others in similar situations (though I hope I never face this again).

I’ll continue documenting this for accountability and personal resilience.

SECTION 6 TITLE 6.5 SEVERE ROACH INFESTATION TIMELINE [EXHIBITS]

WALLS OF SILENCE SECTION 6 TITLE 6.5 SEVERE ROACH INFESTATION TIMELINE   When I moved into Building Ten on December 1, 2023, I had no idea what was in store for me. Those first two months—December and January—were completely roach-free. I settled into the unit, hopeful and ready to make a maximum 12 month go of it. Then came February. That’s when everything changed, January 30, 2023 is when apartment manager Rick Newmann’s guest (girlfriend) physically assaulted me; she left the property very shortly after. Rick Newmann began a “cleanup” in his apartment and rental office following Sarah’s departure. Within days of his so-called cleanup hauling contractor bags of trash from his unit to the dumpster and the garage to unit, to trash—touching items he said belong to their former tenant of the unit I was renting who he said filthy months before, roaches began to emerge in my unit, scuttling up from Rick Newmann’s downstairs unit like unwelcome guests I hadn’t invited. SMOKING GUN TITLE 1.0 WHO IS DON KLYBERG

WALLS OF SILENCE SMOKING GUN TITLE 1.0 WHO IS DON KLYBERG DECEMBER 5, 2024   The Revelation of The Property Owner  (processing)   Today I realized why the gentleman at City Hall loudly asked,   “ Do you know who owns it? ” and then stated the owner ’ s name before the degrading and dishonest woman at the counter scolded him with, “ Hush, I just wanted to see if she knew herself! ” At the time, I didn ’ t understand the significance, but something told me to look up the owner this morning. When I did, I was shocked to discover that Don Klyberg, the named owner, has history of likewise properties at six additional locations — all in North Minneapolis, a predominantly Black neighborhood often stereotyped in local media as low-income and troubled; similar to officer Carter Cook's description of this property in the Animal control call(s) of August 20, 2024. He's a registered slumlord. Subpart 1. Newmann’s House of Horrors A Failure In Prevention This...
